My Whirlpool (VERY expensive) washer broke down the day after Thanksgiving. The repair man said it could cost up to $700 to repair!!! The machine was only 4yrs old! Needless to say I began looking for a new one and was going to buy as cheap a machine as I could find since I was so disgusted with how much they cost to repair. I was going to treat them as a disposable appliance. My husband found a customer review about the Staber washer in one of his equipment magazines and looked it up on the internet. I wasn't willing to spend the money at first, but he talked me into it by convincing me it made sense to try a machine made in the USA that he could probably fix. My machine was delivered two days ago and I'm amazed. At first glance I didn't think there was anyway it would hold as much as my old washer, but it did. I started washing at 7AM and stopped at 10PM. I thought my laundry was clean before, but I was wrong! I could see the difference in the jeans as soon as I pulled them from the machine. We live on a ranch and I usually had to wash jeans twice to get them clean. Not with the Staber! Washing bedding is easier too. I fit a full size mattress pad, fitted and flat sheet and two pillowcases in the machine. I was worried it was to big a load, but decided to try. They came out great. Laundry dries faster too. The clothes are spun out better and take less time to dry. This is one time I'm glad I listened to my husband! I plan to have this machine a long, long time. It may have cost almost twice as much as my fancy Maytag, but if it lasts like they say it will, and continues to wash this well the cost will be well worth it.
